First Step towards Wireless Synchronization ∙ Aspect Preview 18
In the coming weeks we will introduce two features that will make use of this:
There will be an android app that let's you import your mobile photos in real time into the Aspect library on your computer. Not only does this allow tethered shooting, if that's something you want to do with your phone, but it's also a way to automatically back up your mobile photos with no need for cloud storage.
The library synchronization feature that we introduced in the previous preview will be extended to work with any device in the local network that runs Aspect. This means that you can share your Aspect Library across multiple computers and keep on working on all these devices while all changes are kept in sync. Think of a multi-user or family setup, an automated backup to your workstation, or having your complete photo library with you on your laptop, no matter how large it is.
This release also adds a small, but frequently requested, feature that enabled moving files to different events using the context menu. In case of our experimental Linux version, this is actually an important addition, because it provides an alternative to the drag'n'drop that is not currently supported on Linux.
Finally, a number of usability improvements, a bunch of bug fixes, as well as improved crash reporting on macOS – allowing us to debug some crashes that we couldn't until now – made it into this release.
