More Stability Enhancements · Release Candidate 26
We're releasing a small update to Aspect focused primarily on improving stability and addressing some edge-case crashes. This release doesn't introduce significant new features, but resolves issues reported by users and further enhances the overall reliability of the application.
Stability Improvements
This update addresses several potential crash scenarios. Specifically, we've focused on situations arising from:
- Library Handling: Resolved a potential crash related to forceful library unloading and failures during library locks. We’ll now unload libraries immediately if the folder containing them becomes unavailable (like when unplugging an external drive), preventing potential issues.
- Selection Handling: Fixed a possible crash occurring when items disappear from view while using shift key selections.
- Library Instances: Addressed a potential crash related to complex configurations of registered local library instances.
- Startup Issues: Resolved a startup failure caused by corrupted PID files.
- Video File Access: Fixed a crash that could occur when accessing incomplete video files streamed from another instance.
- Library Upgrades: A fix has been included to address a potential crash following upgrades of libraries created before RC-25.
Also, VLC is now recognized as an external viewer on Linux.
