Stability and Workflow Improvements · Release Candidate 36
This latest beta update for Aspect focuses on refining existing features and addressing some persistent stability issues. As with previous betas, we appreciate your continued feedback as we move towards a more polished release.
Workflow Enhancements
- Library Management: We’re significantly improving how Aspect handles library folder movements and copies. Specifically, when a library is copied (either manually in your file system or between devices), Aspect will now automatically assign a new instance ID. This ensures synchronization continues to function correctly. The application will also proactively request authorization when opening a library on a device not already authorized for syncing.
- Context Menu Navigation: You can now right-click on a photo to quickly navigate to its parent event or within the photo stream. This streamlines browsing and context within your projects.
- “Mark Folders as Events” Flexibility: The “Mark Folders as Events” popup has been updated to offer more flexibility. You can now designate either the root folder of a scan as an event, or designate a subfolder as the root of the scan.
Bug Fixes
- Application Exit Stability: Addressed a crash that could occur during application exit when other devices were trying to access a library over the network.
- Duplicate Event Detection: Resolved an issue where renaming an event outside of Aspect (and only changing the case of the name) would falsely trigger a duplicate event detection.
- Keyword Tree Consistency: Fixed a problem causing keywords to appear multiple times in the keyword tree after synchronization.
- Scripting API: Corrected type errors that would sometimes occur when using certain scripting API functions that accept library node objects.
- Fullscreen View Refresh: Resolved an issue preventing the fullscreen view from refreshing after changes to the list of displayed items.
As always, see the change log for the full list of changes.
