UI refinements, RAW metadata fixes, GVFS mounts · Release Candidate 44
UI & Display
The main window is now responsive before library loading begins, enabling basic interaction with the application window during lengthy library load processes. Dialog rendering issues on macOS and Linux, such as white or partially drawn windows, are fixed. A sub-pixel alignment issue affecting thin borders at high DPI has been resolved, and font rendering has been unified across platforms.
Metadata & Image Format Handling
RAW file metadata extraction has been improved: GPS coordinates and lens information now read correctly from more camera models. A bug that prevented reading certain JPEG files entirely has also been fixed, improving compatibility with edge-case image data.
Linux & GVFS Integration
GVFS-mounted file systems are now visible in the file system panel. Attempting to create a library or a scanned folder inside a GVFS mount now triggers a warning, helping users avoid performance and reliability issues.
Other Improvements
Events copied into other events or individual photo folders can now remain as duplicates. The Android Sync import flow no longer allows moving files instead of copying them after setup, preventing inevitable import errors. Also, a rare crash during system standby with an active image analysis process has been resolved.
As always, see the change log for the full list of changes.
