Thumbnail Refinements, CJK Support, and Stability · Release Candidate 46

We've just pushed out another beta update for Aspect, focusing on visual polish, broader language support, and a handful of crash fixes.

Thumbnail and Interface Refinements

The appearance of thumbnails with metadata captions enabled has been adjusted for better clarity. We've also tightened up the layout on the library create/join page in the welcome dialog—small but noticeable improvements to first-run experience.

CJK Character Support

A notable addition this release is the inclusion of a CJK fallback font, enabling proper display of Japanese, Korean, and Chinese text throughout the interface. This addresses a gap that's been flagged by photographers working across multilingual libraries or with embedded metadata in these languages.

Stability Fixes

This update resolves several crash scenarios: one triggered by attempting to load a catalog from an empty file, and two Windows-specific crashes caused by invalid file or folder names containing colon characters—a quirk of how Windows handles certain path strings. We've also corrected an issue where the mouse cursor incorrectly indicated resizable borders for fullscreen windows, and fixed paragraph captions that were sometimes truncated with “...” when they didn't need to be.

Lastly, early access and beta license registration in the welcome screen now properly updates the license status without requiring a restart.

As always, see the change log for the full list of changes.
