On-demand remote Image Loading · Aspect Preview 28
Previously, for libraries synchronized between multiple devices, you could only see the metadata and preview resolution images for any photo not stored directly on the device/library instance. Now, if any connected device contains the photo in question, it will be automatically fetched and cached from there, so that the full resolution image is available.
This works both, for other online devices on the network, as well as for library instances on other hard disks that are connected to the computer.
Synchronization Improvements
There is a new synchronization storage mode "MANUAL". When choosing this mode, the only originals that will be stored will be:
- Events manually marked as "keep available locally"
- Any files in scanned folders
- Any referenced events
This mode is useful to properly support a basic manually managed multi-disk setup, or to set up devices that are short on disk storage. See also the related HOWTO: Splitting a library over multiple hard disks
At the same time, we've fixed a few bugs that could happen in certain scenarios involving multiple instances of the same library on the same computer. See the change log for the details and downloads: Version 1.0.0-preview.28
