Deleting an Event
If you delete an event, the event is moved to Aspects internal trash can. There are three ways to delete an event:
Approach | Instructions |
---|---|
▤ Context Menu | Right-click (or Ctrl+click on macOS) the event in the navigation pane and choose Delete from the context menu. |
☰ Main Menu | Select the event and choose Library → Delete in the main menu (≡ Menu, or the menu bar on macOS). |
⌨ Shortcut | Select and focus the event in the navigation pane by clicking it twice (so that it has a blue background) and hit Del, or ⌘⌫ on macOS |
If there are any images in the event, a confirmation dialog will appear before the event is actually deleted.
Move a photo from an event to trash
Removing a photo from an event means that it will be moved into Aspects Trash. From there you can delete it or recover it back to the original event. Here is how to do it:
Approach | Instructions |
---|---|
▤ Context Menu | Right-click, or Ctrl+click on macOS, the selected image(s) and choose Move to Trash from the context menu. |
☰ Main Menu | Select the image(s) and choose Image → Move to Trash in the main menu (≡ Menu, or the menu bar on macOS). |
⌨ Shortcut | Select the image(s) and hit Del, or ⌘⌫ on macOS |
Permanently deleting a Photo from an Event
In contrast to the paragraph above, deleting a photo will not put the photo in Aspect trash but delete it from your harddisk permanently. There is no way to recover or undo this action. After invoking the action a dialog will ask for additional confirmation to avoid accidental deletion.
Approach | Instructions |
---|---|
▤ Context Menu | Right-click, or Ctrl+click on macOS, the selected image(s) and choose Delete permanently from the context menu. |
☰ Main Menu | Select the image(s) and choose Image → Delete permanently in the main menu (≡ Menu, or the menu bar on macOS). |
⌨ Shortcut | Select the image(s) and hit Shift+Del, or ⌘⌥⌫ on macOS |
Moving a Photo to a different Event
If you want to move one or more photos to a different event you simply select the photos you want to move and drag them with your mouse over to the new event. This will also move the files in your filesystem to the new eventfolder so that everything stays organized.
Renaming an Event
There are different ways to rename an event in Aspect. Select the event you want to rename. The event name must be highlighted in blue. When you use one of the methods below the event name will be highlighted and you can enter a new name. When you are done confirm by pressing the ↩ Return key.
Approach | Instructions |
---|---|
▤ Context Menu | Right-click, or Ctrl+click on macOS, the event and choose Rename from the context menu. |
☰ Main Menu | Select the event and choose Library → Rename in the main menu (≡ Menu, or the menu bar on macOS). |
⌨ Shortcut | Select and focus the event in the navigation pane by clicking it twice (so that it has a blue background) and hit F2, or ↩ Return on macOS |
Note:
When you rename the event in Aspect, the corresponding folder will be correspondingly renamed automatically.
